7th-8th grade Academic Team members: Front: L-R - Randy Burton, John Campbell, Eli Coykendall, Lincoln Coleman; Back - Madison Haney, Charity Albert. They competed in the State Academic Bowl in Dale. It was their first year participating, and they were the last team to qualify. They knew it was gonna be tough, but if they could just get one win at state, they belonged there. And they did it!! They lost their first round but won their second and survived to compete a third time. They were beaten in the third match by only 3 questions. They have done very well, and I'm super excited to see what they accomplish throughout the years. They are coached by Mrs. Robin Coleman.
The following students were Book It All-Stars in kindergarten this year. Kaysen Ketterman, Cole Ross, Cash Welty, Sterling Royal, Kiley Wear, Jase Mann, Elliott Clark, and Bentley Broadbent. These students completed their goal of 15 books a month for six months. Mrs. Meredithe does a great job with the elementary library.
Throughout the year, Librarian Tasha Hamil has had an ongoing book battle. What started with 16 books has been narrowed down to 2, and the final battle happened last Tuesday. The final battle was read by high school students to the elementary school. After a vote, the winner was “Hamsters Make Terrible Roommates”.
“Something Stinks” was presented by Mckale Hamil, Emma Knowles, and Kenzie Hamil.
“Hamsters Make Terrible Roommates” was presented by Ryan Elder, Jacob Hajny, and Jenna Thomas.
