The last week of school was jam packed with semester tests, banquets, reward parties, and assemblies. It was a fun-filled week to wrap up another great year at Arnett Public Schools.
On Thursday and Friday, May 4-5, Mrs. Broyles took three different groups to the Tri-State Music Festival in Enid. There were seven 7th & 8th grade students representing Arnett in the Honor Choir and three students in the Honor Band. The 5th & 6th grade choir ended their year with an Excellent rating.
On Saturday, May 6, Jozie Latta attended the Bedlam Softball game in Stillwater with her 5th grade reading teacher, Mrs. Wheeler and library aide, Mrs. Hamil. Along with attending the softball game, Jozie and her teachers got to tour the Cowgirl Softball complex and Gallagher-Iba Arena. Jozie earned this reward trip by reading all 15 Sequoyah books this year. Several students read 8-10 books on the list, but Jozie was the only Arnett student to read all 15. Jozie was surprised with her reward trip when it was announced at an all-school Sequoyah Book Challenge Red Carpet Awards Show.
Baccalaureate was hosted by the Ministerial Alliance on Sunday, May 7, with Ross Royal giving the inspiration to this year’s graduating seniors. The All-Sports Banquet was held Monday, May 8, to recognize those involved in baseball, softball, basketball, and cheerleading with the FFA Banquet taking place Tuesday, May 9, to highlight all the activities and accomplishments of the year.
The Ellis County Track Meet was held Tuesday, May 10, in Shattuck for 1st-6th graders. The Arnett Talent Show was hosted the morning of May 11, with individual, group, and class performances. The Beta Club organized their annual school wide community trash pickup on that same day. Pre-K through 12th graders and their teachers picked up trash and fallen limbs around town and the school. The community supports the school and organizations year round, and this is one of the ways the students, teachers, and sponsors like to give back.

The 2023-2024 FFA Officer Team was announced at the FFA Banquet: MaKale Hamil, Brianna Marenco, Sean Sanchez, Abbie Boyd, MaKenzi Hamil, and Talara Brown.
The Kindergarten class picked up trash around the playground during the Beta Club’s school wide trash pickup.
4th Grader, Norah Bryant placed 1st in the 75 yard dash, 2nd in the 50 yard dash, and 2nd in the 3rd/4th grade girls’ relay at the Ellis County Track Meet.
