We have made it into April and graduation is just around the corner! This week's "Senior Spotlight" features Mr. Leland Daniels. Congratulations, Leland!
April is here and time is flying! Teachers are busy helping students prepare for state tests, and students are buckled down finishing out the year along with running all over the state with sports, FFA, music, and more.
In 4th grade science, the students are learning about structures and functions of plants and animals. Last week they learned about the internal and external parts of plants. They then dissected several different flowers to examine the different structures. They also used food coloring, water, and celery to observe how a plant's vascular system transports water throughout the plant.
4th graders, Ryder Williams and Nikki Clark dissecting roses to examine their structures.
In Mrs. Gaisfords 1st grade class, the students had the opportunity to do their first breakout game. This is a learning activity that promotes critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork. They did a great job! All of the groups were able to get at least one lock unlocked.
Congratulations to Arnett Junior Harley Shoaf for an outstanding performance, placing 2nd out of 73 golfers in her first high school tournament of the season, the Dover Girls Invitational at Kingfisher Golf Course!
This weeks Farmers and Merchants Bank "Banking on a Wildcat" goes to Mr. Jack Long. His work colleagues had this to say about him: "Mr. Long is a dedicated teacher to his subject area and to his students. He makes it his mission to not only educate his classes about history and geography, but also about going out into the world and being good, productive citizens. Mr. Long establishes a relationship with his students that he can have the fun, bantering talks with them, but also that he can have the harder, life lesson conversations with them. Mr. Long is an asset to our school and education system that we are very blessed to have." Congratulations, Jack!We also celebrated our students of the month for March this past week Congrats to our amazing students who earned it this month. These students were recognized for their efforts in class, attitude, and hard work. Keep up the great work!

Friday the 6th graders were recognized for their outstanding efforts on their essays they wrote for the D.A.R. Essay contest. They spent three weeks researching and writing for this contest. Their topic was very difficult this year in my opinion.
