Another exciting week at Arnett Public Schools. Just under a month away until the Class of 2024 walks across the stage for graduation. As we continue the countdown, this week's "Senior Sunday" features Canon Hardin. Congratulations, Canon!
This week's Farmers and Merchants Bank "Banking on a Wildcat" goes to Mr. Bill Burcham. Bill's peers had this to say about him: "Coach Burcham is the teacher and coach every school system needs. The way he encourages students and other colleagues with his positivity, quick wit, and one liners is something that is welcomed and looked forward to every day. Maya Angelou once said, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Coach B is one of those leaders that makes ALL people feel better after being around him. We are lucky to have him at our school making a difference in our students' lives." Congratulations, Coach B. "Humbabe!"
Monday students were able to enjoy the day off from class while the Arnett staff met for a professional day.
Monday the JH and HS softball teams traveled to Arapaho to play. The JH lost both games. Then the HS played and lost 0-7.
The HS boys also played Monday against Shattuck. They lost 11-1. The JH boys played Leedey in Arnett on Tuesday. They ended up losing also.
Wednesday the Arnett 3rd-6th grader students who succeeded in hitting all three nine weeks reading goals for the first three nine weeks earned a free trip to OKC to watch the Oklahoma City Ball Club take on the Sacramento River Cats. It was a beautiful day at the ballpark! OKC won 4-3.

The Wildcats softball and baseball week turned around for the better starting Wednesday. The HS girls faced off with Blair to start district playoffs. The Lady Wildcats won both games, 17-2 and 16-3, making them our district champions.

The HS boys district playoffs kicked off Thursday afternoon. They took on Sweetwater in a double header and won both games also, 15-0 and 12-2, making them our district champions! Congratulations to both teams!

The Miss Arnett pageant took place Sunday. There were two contestants, Brianna Burton, daughter of Stephanie Broadbent and granddaughter of Teresa Chapman and Randy Stevens, and Casi Noreuil, daughter of Brian and Natasha Nickel, granddaughter of Steve and Debbie Stewart. Both girls are Juniors at Arnett High School. Both girls did an exceptional job competing!
Mr. AHS was given to Sean Sanchez, the 18 yr old son of Merced Sanchez and Angelica Martinez.

Several students from Arnett helped with the pageant by performing as entertainment. This included 7th & 8th Band Members, Levi C., Brooklyn Vincent, Lola Coleman, Adante Smith, Levi Starkey, Charity Albert, Jasmine Smith and Josie Sibley. They performed "Smoke On The Water." The 5th and 6th Grade Choir sang, "The Cowboy's Tale." Eli Coykendall and Katie Girton performed a 4 Hands Piano Duet - You've Got A Friend In Me. Under the Direction of Mrs. Nicki Fowler Broyles, Spencer Royal and Cade Gaisford sang "You and Me", accompanied by Deryla Lamunyon Dorsey. Alyssa Smith performed a monologue. The flower girls this year were Lennon Miller, daughter of Corey and Blair Miller, and River Welty, daughter of Evin and Sarah Welty. This year the MC was Miss Arnett 2024 Alyssa Jean Smith and 2024 Mr. AHS Ryan Elder.
