How is it already September? The weeks are already flying by. The students’ schedules are already packed with homework, sports, 4-H and FFA projects, Beta, and more.

Several softball and baseball games went on this past week. The Lady Wildcats played Tuesday in Hydro. They beat the Lady Bobcats 2-1. Thursday they played Watonga in the Fairview Tournament. They won 18-0. Later that day, they played Oklahoma Bible and won again 6-0. Friday they faced off against Garber and came out on top 3-2. Saturday in the finals they took on Crescent and lost 4-6. They had to turn around and play Woodward next and lost 3-7.

The JH girls were also busy playing this week. They played Seiling Tuesday and lost. Thursday they took on Vici and won. Friday they played a double header and beat both Sentinel and Hammon!

The HS baseball boys traveled to Lomega Thursday to play. They battled hard in the 3rd inning to make a comeback after being down 4 runs but didn’t quite make it. They lost 4-5. Friday the Wildcats took on Lookeba-Sickles and lost 0-8. Saturday the Wildcats hit the road again and played Vici. They lost 3-9.

The JH boys had a great week playing ball. They defeated both Taloga and Lomega!

Each month the Elementary celebrates a “Student of the Month” from about every class in the elementary. These students are ones who have been helpful, responsible, and have shown kindness and more to their classmates and teachers. Each student receives a t-shirt, a gift certificate to the quick stop, and an Arnett cup with prizes inside. For August, our Students of the Month were Grace Helfenbein (Pre-K), Kreason Johnston (K), Lincoln Burnett (1st), Addie Kincannon (2nd), Tyke Williams (3rd), Lucas Coykendall (4th), & Norah Bryant (6th).

In 4th grade science this past week, the fourth graders have been studying energy transfers and energy transformations. They learned how chemical energy is transformed into light energy in an electric circuit. After finishing with their lights, they were able to try to make a motor work and add an on and off switch.
g
Adalynn Fink and Grant Tune were excited about completing their electric circuit and powering their motor.

The Ellis Co. Fair was also going on this past weekend. Several students from Arnett had projects entered in the show. Many of our students placed in the poster contest. Congratulations to all those who placed! Below are the placings. The bolded names are Arnett students.
