It’s been another busy week at Arnett Public School. Softball and baseball are busy playing or practicing every day. They have had several more games this week. The Lady Wildcats HS team traveled to Merritt to take on the Oilerrettes and lost 1-3. They turned around Thursday and traveled to Laverne. They beat the Lady Tigers 11-4. Friday was another road game for the Lady Wildcats. They ended up losing to Seiling 3-9. The JH girls were busy also this week. They took on the Canadian Wildcats and lost. They also played Laverne and lost . Friday the JH girls played again vs. Woodward. They split the two games and won the first game and lost the second.
Monday our HS boys played Fargo-Gage at home and beat them 6-5. Tuesday they turned around and traveled to Hammon. They fell short, 0-9. Thursday they were back on the road to Vici. They lost to the Indians 8-16. Friday they played against Fargo-Gage again but on their field. Our boys played well and won 12-9. To end the week, the boys traveled to Dover and took on the Longhorns. They lost 0-6. The JH boys played Fargo-Gage also on Monday and ended with a tie 7-7.
On the first Friday of September, the HS baseball team greeted elementary students and teachers as they arrived at school in the morning.
Our Arnett Beta Club Sponsor, Mrs. Burcham, also represents our state as the Oklahoma Jr. Beta State Sponsor and recently traveled to Spartanburg, South Carolina, where National Beta Headquarters are located to receive training for the upcoming convention year.
Last Saturday the Arnett Robotics Team traveled to Alva for Kickoff. This marked the beginning of an 8 week long competition to design, build, and market their robot. This year's theme is "LOW G", as in low gravity, because they are building a robot that has to make life on the moon sustainable. Stay Tuned for updates!

The 5th graders have been enjoying the messy side of science this past week. They’ve been learning about the different properties of matter. They enjoyed creating oobleck to observe how its properties are similar to a solid and liquid.
