Sunday afternoon was a day of celebration and community spirit as the Arnett Beta Club joined forces with the Arnett Kiwanis Club for the much-anticipated Kids Day event. Members from both organizations came together to create a memorable experience for local children and their families.
The Senior Beta members took on the important role of judges, while the Junior Betas proudly led the festive parade, bringing excitement and energy to the event. In addition to their roles as judges and parade leaders, Beta members also lent a helping hand during the races, ensuring everything ran smoothly and cheerfully.
“The Kiwanis Club has always been a wonderful organization for us to collaborate with,” said Mrs. Burcham, the Beta Club sponsor. “Their commitment to service and community values aligns perfectly with our mission, and it’s an honor to work alongside them.”
On the first Friday of October, Arnett FFA members made a vibrant impression as they welcomed elementary students at the school entrance. Dressed in their official FFA attire, the members greeted students with high fives and fist bumps, setting a positive tone for the day ahead.
This week, students from Arnett High School took part in a valuable ACT preparation workshop held at the High Plains Technology Center in Woodward. Led by Chad Cargill, the workshop equipped students with essential strategies to maximize their ACT scores. Participants explored key concepts relevant to each section of the test, gaining insights that will undoubtedly benefit their academic futures.
Community safety took center stage as members of the Arnett Fire Department visited local elementary students in observance of Fire Prevention Week. This year's theme, "Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work for You!" aimed to emphasize the critical importance of functioning smoke alarms in every household. Firefighters engaged with the students, sharing vital information on fire safety and prevention.
The excitement continued as fourth, fifth, and sixth graders embarked on their Fall field trip on Thursday. The young adventurers toured the breathtaking Alabaster Caverns, marveling at the natural beauty of the underground formations, followed by a hike through the surrounding state park. The field trip provided an excellent opportunity for students to learn about geology and the environment while enjoying the great outdoors.
