AHS Mini Cheer Camp Brings School Spirit to Young Students

On January 13, 15, and 16, 2025, the AHS Mini Cheer Camp gave Pre-K through 6th grade students an exciting opportunity to get involved in school spirit while learning the basics of cheerleading. This special camp, held at the Arnett High School gym, was a fun-filled three-day event designed to teach young students the fundamentals of cheerleading, including two lively chants and an energetic short dance routine.

Throughout the week, the young participants were guided by AHS cheerleaders, who served as mentors and role models. The camp not only focused on building cheerleading skills but also emphasized teamwork, enthusiasm, and school pride. By the end of the camp, the students had mastered their chants and dance, ready to perform at the homecoming game on Friday night.

The Mini Cheer Camp was an excellent opportunity for elementary students to engage with the AHS community, showing their support for the school and joining in the excitement of the upcoming homecoming game. The experience provided lasting memories, giving these young cheerleaders the chance to perform alongside the high school team and celebrate their school spirit with the crowd.

The AHS Mini Cheer Camp was a great success in encouraging school pride and fostering a sense of unity among the younger students, all while learning valuable skills that will inspire them for years to come.

6th Grade Coffee Cats "Give Back" to Teachers Who Supported Them

The members of the 6th grade Coffee Cat group are showing their gratitude and giving back to the teachers who have supported them throughout their school journey. In a heartwarming act of kindness, these students recently helped purchase items to benefit classrooms and enhance learning experiences for younger students.

One of their thoughtful contributions was to Miss Kuper's Pre-K class, where they purchased supplies for Mother's Day crafts. In addition, the Coffee Cats also assisted 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Gaisford, by helping to purchase math boxes for her class. These boxes will provide the 1st graders with valuable hands-on learning tools, making math activities more engaging and interactive.

By "giving back" in this way, the 6th grade Coffee Cats are not only expressing their gratitude but also fostering a sense of community and teamwork. Their actions serve as a reminder of the impact teachers have on their students, and the importance of supporting one another in the school community. This kind gesture is a beautiful example of how kindness and collaboration can make a difference.

On January 15, 2025, the fourth graders at Arnett Elementary had the unique opportunity to participate in a virtual visit to a dairy farm, thanks to the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture. This engaging event was part of the Cultivating Classrooms Ag in the Classroom program, designed to give students a closer look at the agriculture industry.

The virtual visit took students to the Coblentz Family Farm, where they experienced an interactive and informative exploration of the dairy industry. Through this program, the students got an up-close view of the daily operations of a working dairy farm and learned about the dedication and hard work involved in providing milk and dairy products.

The session included live demonstrations and a chance for students to ask questions, making it an exciting and educational experience. Students learned about everything from the care of dairy cows to the process of milk production and the importance of agriculture in their daily lives.

The event not only deepened the students' understanding of the agriculture industry but also inspired curiosity and appreciation for the efforts of farmers. Teachers and students alike expressed their enthusiasm for the program, noting how it brought real-world learning directly into the classroom.
