Wanted: Art teacher

We celebrated two groups last week for April and May Sonic Students of the Month!
For April we honored L-R Kade Gaisford, Bella Booth, Audia McIntyre, Bayne Strick, Landon McCartor and Cole Ross. Our May honorees were L-R Kyler Ham, Alex Strick, Carley Nickel, Leddy Johnson, Riah Latta and Noah Coykendall.
These students were chosen for hard work and cooperation in the classroom.
Our teachers of the month are not pictured because they were off doing what they do best- educating kids!
April Sonic Teacher of the Month is Mrs. Nicki Broyles. She teaches all of our music classes and helps students in the resource room. She also is the sponsor and founder of the mentorship program where high school students partner with younger students and provide guidance throughout the school year.
Ms. Jena Holloway is our May Sonic Teacher of the Month and is a major part of the foundation of our school. Ms. Holloway is not only an outstanding teacher and BETA sponsor, but a dedicated Reading Specialist as well. She meets one on one with many of our students to provide additional support in their early literacy stages.
Congratulations Wildcats!

The Art Class finished their semester project, a Dr. Seuss inspired mural in the Elementary Library!

Bristen Robertson placed third in the 6th to 8th grade division of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s Trash Poster competition. She and teacher Sally Wheeler were recognized at an awards ceremony in Oklahoma City and Bristen was recognized with other winners on the floor of the House of Representatives and the Senate.

The art class shows off their portfolios from the year.

Thirteen students involved in the Arnett Mentoring Program recently traveled to Ponca City to tour the Marland Mansion. While there, tour guides led the group throughout the 55-room mansion modeled after the Davanzatti Palace in Florence, Italy, teaching them not only about the amazing construction of the mansion, but also about the life of E.W. Marland, the legendary founder of Marland Oil, and his wife, Lydie. The group also made a stop at the Oakwood Bowl in Enid for a little extra fun on the way home.

The 1st and 2nd grade students that reached 100 AR points this school year enjoyed a bowling trip in Woodward!
1st grade students: Piper Marie Born, Lucas Coykendall, Rhett McCartor, Carley Nickel, Kindrey Spurgeon, Cameron Stanley, Dylan Watson, and Wesley Wheeler
2nd grade students: Leddy Johnson, Ryder Williams, Oden Shepard, Nikki Clark, and Makenna Hamil
