Arnett Public Schools

The hallways at Arnett Public Schools may not have been bustling with students and backpacks all summer, but the corridors were not quiet and empty either. Every summer, the maintenance and custodial staff at Arnett perform annual upkeep during the summer break to keep the facilities in top notch condition. All desks, tables, and other materials were moved out of every single classroom so that carpets could be shampooed and extracted. Tile floors were waxed, windows were washed, desks were cleaned, air filters were replaced, fresh coats of paint were added where needed, and repairs were made. 

Rick Morrissette, DeLyn Morrissette, Maria Flores, and Kristi Haney painted the inside of the gymnatorium giving it a bright, welcoming feel. Swimming pool walls were bleached and cleaned, and the awning poles were painted as well. These employees did so much more than mentioned above, working hard all summer doing the big and little things to make our school ready for students and teachers in August.

Ross Royal, Alison Kincannon, Alyson Friesen, Merced Sanchez, Brianna Marenco, and Sean Sanchez have also been diligently working to spruce up our school facilities. They have been cleaning and organizing shop & building spaces, detailing school vehicles & buses, polishing furniture, prepping areas for new carpet, cleaning out gutters, tearing out fences, and deep cleaning areas that are hard to get to when school is in session.

As far as the grounds and lawn maintenance, Coach Royal takes care of the softball field throughout the summer while Coach Burcham maintains the baseball field and school grounds.

Summer break did seem to come and go in a hurry. School enrollment can be completed online through the school website at arnett.k12.ok.us or if assistance is needed, you may come to the school on Thursday, August 3. Teachers and staff report back to school on Monday, August 7, with students beginning classes on Thursday, August 10.
