Fourteen elementary and junior high students represented Arnett at OkMEA’s Circle the State with Song. Ninety three students from ten Northwest Oklahoma schools performed in a concert on January 24 at Laverne High School. The 4th thru 8th grade students began practicing eight songs last fall after being chosen for the honor choir. CTSWS is a statewide honor choir consisting of 21 regions with over 3000 students participating. Mrs. Broyles commented, “I am very proud of my students. They worked hard, learned to sing in different languages and in many different styles, and had fun doing it. I am very appreciative of the parents that supported their children by picking them up from the after school practices, listening to them practice at home, and driving to Laverne to watch the concert. Arnett should be very proud of these kids.”

The Beta Club blood drive was a success with 31 people showing up to donate blood. Thank you to teachers, students, and community members who donated, and Beta members who worked the sign-in table.

The Arnett Jr. and Sr. Beta Clubs are teaming up with Beta Clubs across Oklahoma for a statewide service project for the Ronald McDonald House by collecting pull tabs.
Arnett Beta would like to make this a school wide project as well! You may bring your aluminum tabs to school between now and Friday, February 25th. The elementary and JH/HS class that has the highest weight in pull tabs will win a pizza party provided by the Beta Club! Junior high and high school students can drop off their aluminum tabs with their class sponsor, and elementary students may turn theirs in to their teacher.
Oklahoma has Ronald McDonald Houses in OKC and Tulsa where families with sick or injured family members can stay with little to no cost. They also provide family rooms at hospitals near a pediatric or intensive care unit where families can rest, but still be only steps away from their loved one.
Ronald McDonald Houses have a Pull Tab Collection Program (pull tabs have a higher recycling value than the aluminum in the rest of the can), and we will be supporting this program. We have had families from Arnett and our school who have stayed at a Ronald McDonald House or taken advantage of their family waiting rooms and benefited from this program. We hope you will participate!

The kindergarten love when Mrs.Shoaf and Stella come to read to us!

The 4th Graders took a short trip to Lake Vincent for reading class. They are reading “Hatchet” a story about a young boy who gets stranded near a lake in the woods of Canada.
